Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Made of Days has no servers and no account. Everything you record stays on your device. With Made of Days Pro, it also syncs through your own private iCloud account, which only you can read. Nothing is ever sent to us, and there are no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs.
What the app stores
Made of Days stores the following on your device:
- The activities and dimensions you create, including their names, icons and colors
- Your check-ins: the date, end time and duration, plus any custom measurements you define (such as distance or mood)
- Journal text you write, and photos you attach
- Reminders you set
- Your settings and preferences
Apple Health
If you choose to use automatic check-ins, Made of Days reads the following from Apple Health, and only the types belonging to the activities you set up:
Steps · Walking + Running Distance · Swimming Distance · Cycling Distance · Flights Climbed · Active Energy · Heart Rate · Exercise Minutes · Stand Hours · Sleep · Mindful Minutes · Water · Caffeine · Body Mass · Blood Pressure · Blood Glucose · Workouts
- Read only. The app never writes anything to Apple Health.
- Health data is read on your device and used for two things: deciding whether an activity counts as checked in, and showing the readings that come with it, such as a workout's duration, distance or heart rate.
- Those readings stay on your device. They are left out of iCloud sync and device backups, and are never sent anywhere. With iCloud sync on, what syncs for an automatic check-in is the check-in itself: which activity, and when. Numbers you enter yourself are your own records, and sync like the rest.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or similar services, and is never shared with or sold to any third party.
- You can revoke access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
Photos
Photos you attach to an entry are copied into the app's own storage on your device. Text in photos is recognized on your device using Apple's Vision framework, so that you can search your journal by something written in a picture. Photos and the recognized text are never uploaded to us.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is part of Made of Days Pro. When it is on, your records are synced through your own private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. Readings from Apple Health are not among them (see above). This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and counts toward your iCloud storage. We have no access to it, and no ability to read it. Turning sync off stops further syncing; data already in your iCloud account can be removed from Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
Diagnostics
The app keeps a small local diagnostic log (recent events such as "a record was saved", counts, and dates) to help investigate problems. It never contains your journal text, activity names, photos or health values. It is never transmitted anywhere. You may choose to export a diagnostics bundle yourself and send it to us; if you do, only what you send is what we receive.
Made of Days also uses Apple's MetricKit, which delivers crash and performance reports from the system to the app on the next launch. These stay on your device unless you export them.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregated sales reports.
Whether you have Made of Days Pro is remembered on your device and in your iCloud Keychain, so the app on a new iPhone knows before the App Store answers.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, no sign-in
- No analytics or tracking of any kind
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs
- No selling or sharing of your data; it never reaches us
Children
Made of Days is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
Deleting a record removes it and its photos from your device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored locally. If you used iCloud sync, you can remove the app's iCloud data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change and the new version will be posted at this address.
